2015-16 Social Studies



As we dig deep into the history of our country this year, clips and websites from class lessons will be added for each unit. Use these as helpful ways to review at home and discuss with your family what we are studying in social studies.

Unit 1
Early History of the United States
  • Iroquois Lifestyle: We used this clip to lead our discussion of the lifestyle of early Native Americans, including the Iroquois.
  • Pueblo Homes: Pueblo Indian homes, built into cliffs, incuded kivas. Watch more from class.
  • French and Indian War: What would it have felt like to be in the early colonies during the French and Indian War? We watched and discussed this clip in class.
  • Boston Tea Party: What caused this conflict in our Nation's history?
  • Colonists vs. British: Strengths and weaknesses for both sides
  • School House Rock: Events of the American Revolution
  • Revolutionary War: This clip allowed us to reflect on how wars changed early American life.
